About XENTRY Diagnosis

XENTRY Diagnosis is the Mercedes-Benz workshop system, sold through the B2B Connect portal. It comes in three main forms, depending on how much coverage a workshop needs.

Versions

  • XENTRY Diagnosis Kit: the full standard solution. Kit 4 stopped being orderable in January 2026, and Kit 5 is its successor.
  • XENTRY Diagnosis Lite: aimed at independent workshops, on a 12-month contract with a fixed yearly fee, a VCI purchase and time-based data costs.
  • XENTRY Pass Thru: runs on a compatible pass-thru device with reduced scope. Mercedes points users to the full kit if they need all model series.

What it can do

  • Quick test of all control units, with guided troubleshooting.
  • Coding, initial start-up and software updates, some of which need online authorisation.

Strengths

  • The reference tool for Mercedes-Benz procedures.

Limitations

  • Costs are ongoing, and pricing is not published openly.
  • Some security-related functions need additional registration.

Good to know

The kit hardware only works with paid XENTRY software, so buying a used VCI alone is not enough. OBD4 does not provide software, licences or downloads.
