About GM Techline Connect

Techline Connect is the application GM dealers and independent workshops use to reach GDS2 (diagnostics), SPS2 (programming) and service information.

Supported vehicles

  • GM brands such as Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Buick. GDS2 covers about 2010 onward global-architecture vehicles.
  • Older vehicles use the Tech 2 scan tool and its software.

What it can do

  • Module fault codes, data displays, output controls and configuration with GDS2.
  • Module programming with SPS2, using calibrations downloaded from GM.

Subscription

  • Sold through ACDelco TDS, either as a full subscription or per VIN for programming. Users report recent per-VIN increases to about $45.

Hardware

  • The MDI 2 is the reference interface. GM says standard J2534 devices also work.

Limitations

  • Needs a stable internet connection and battery support during programming.
  • Clone MDI units often fail on current releases.

Good to know

Per-VIN programming makes a one-off module replacement affordable for a small workshop. OBD4 does not provide software, licences or downloads.
