About BimmerCode

BimmerCode is a phone app that changes the settings stored in BMW and MINI control modules. It turns a job that used to need dealer-style laptop software into a list of switches.

What it can do

  • Enable or change comfort, lighting, display and driver-assistance settings, where the car's hardware allows it.
  • Back up the coding before changes, and restore it later.
  • Coding only: fault codes and live data are in the sister app, BimmerLink.

Pricing

  • Free to download, but coding needs the one-time full version. Prices vary by country.

Hardware

  • The team recommends the OBDLink CX. Many other Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and ENET adapters work too.

Limitations

  • Available options depend on the model and its equipment.
  • Coding can affect warranty and, in some countries, road legality.
