P210F: Throttle Actuator B Control System - Forced Limited RPM
Standardized SAE J2012 code · P21xx — Fuel & air metering and auxiliary emission controls
What does P210F mean?
P210F is a status code for the second throttle: the controller has capped engine speed because control of throttle B is no longer reliable. No manufacturer documents this code publicly. Its bank 1 sibling P2110 is well described: in Ford's 2012 summary it follows the loss of both throttle position sensors or a fault found by the throttle plate controller, sets the MIL and wrench lamp and enforces an rpm limit with fuel and spark. P210F would play the same role on engines with two throttles; the root cause is stored as a separate code such as P210A, P210B or a throttle B sensor fault, and that is what gets repaired. CARB treats such fallback modes as malfunctions when they can raise emissions. Expect a hard rev limit.
The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.
Symptoms
- Engine will not rev past a fixed limit
- Engine and wrench lamp on
Common causes
- High Electrical or mechanical fault of throttle B (see companion code)
- Medium Loss of the position signals of throttle B
- Low ECU software reacting too strictly
