About UCDS Pro+
UCDS is a Ford-specific diagnostic system made up of a USB interface and Windows software. It is an alternative to Ford IDS for the vehicle generations it covers.
Supported vehicles
- Mainly Fords from about 2004 to 2017, such as Fiesta MK6/MK7, Focus 2 and 3, Mondeo 4, Kuga 1 and 2, S-Max, Galaxy, C-Max, B-Max, Transit and Explorer (2011+).
- PATS (key) functions appear only on vehicles where the developer has tested them, for example Focus 2 and 3, Mondeo 4, Kuga 1 and 2, and Explorer 2011.
What it can do
- Module codes and live data.
- Configuration (as-built) changes, module installation and reset procedures, service functions, and ECU/TCM/BCM reprogramming.
Strengths
- Deep module access on supported Fords, with a clear interface.
Limitations
- Programming functions consume tokens, and the number depends on the licence.
- Newer Fords on FDRS, and PATS on many 2013+ models, need Ford's authenticated access.
- Clone kits warn against software updates.
OBD4 does not provide software, licences or downloads.
