P211E: Throttle Actuator B Control Module Processor
Standardized SAE J2012 code · P21xx — Fuel & air metering and auxiliary emission controls
What does P211E mean?
P211E is the processor fault for the control of throttle B on engines with two electronic throttles. No manufacturer documents this code publicly. The A version P2107 is well described: Ford treats it as an internal processor fault or lost link to the main CPU, detected in 60 ms, with MIL and an ETC lamp, and from 2024 reports it under P2108. Twin-throttle systems published by GM and Ford drive both throttles from the one engine computer and do not show a separate P211E. CARB requires on-board computers and their outputs to be monitored. If it appears, check ECU supply, grounds and software level before replacing hardware. Expect limp mode. Module performance for B is P211F.
The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.
Symptoms
- Engine and ETC warning lamps on
- Limp mode with reduced power
Common causes
- High Control unit software fault (reflash)
- Medium Voltage dips or poor ground at the control unit
- Low Internal hardware failure of the control unit
Likelihood is a general estimate across vehicles; your make and model may differ.
