P264B: A Rocker Arm Actuator Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1
Standardized SAE J2012 code · P26xx — Computer and output circuits
What does P264B mean?
The position sensor reading does not transition cleanly between the two valve lift modes on bank 1. Sensor drift or mechanical wear leaves the signal between expected values.
The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.
Common causes
- Medium Sensor signal drift after thermal aging
- Medium Worn lock pin reduces travel between modes
- Low Sensor element aged beyond calibration window
