P0EE4: A/C Refrigerant Distribution Valve B Control Circuit Low
Standardized SAE J2012 code · P0Exx codes
What does P0EE4 mean?
P0EE4 is stored when the control line of refrigerant valve B is pulled to a lower voltage than the driver commands, usually by a short to ground. With a high-side driver the valve would then stay energised or the output would be overloaded; with a low-side driver the coil may be switched on permanently. No manufacturer documents P0EE4 publicly. The closest published case is the valve A sibling P2612, which Ross-Tech describes for Volkswagen models as a short to ground at the N280 compressor regulator valve, a coil of about 10 ohms with a moulded connector that can turn brittle and let the pins corrode. A similar check on the valve B coil and its connector is a sensible start. Open and high faults of valve B are P0EE3 and P0EE5.
The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.
Symptoms
- Warning lamp on
- Valve B behaves as if permanently energised or not at all
Common causes
- High Control wire chafed through to ground
- Medium Brittle or corroded valve connector
- Low Coil winding shorted to the valve body
Likelihood is a general estimate across vehicles; your make and model may differ.
