P0CCF: Charge Port Door A Position Sensor Circuit High
Standardized SAE J2012 code · P0Cxx — Hybrid and electric propulsion
Safety-critical system. Faults in airbags, brakes, steering or high-voltage components can put people at risk. Follow the manufacturer's service information and safety procedures, or have the vehicle checked by a qualified workshop.
What does P0CCF mean?
P0CCF stands for a charge flap A position sensor signal above its highest valid level. A signal wire touching a 12 V feed, or an interrupted sensor ground that lets the input float upwards, are the usual explanations. In GM's Chevrolet Volt tables from 2011 to 2013 the threshold is 94.5 percent of reference, confirmed in six of eight samples; the 2013 table samples at 500 ms. The code is Type B, so the lamp lights after the second trip with the fault. As with P0CCE, an active P0CCF stops GM's dependent tests P0CF4 and P0CD2 from running. Low readings are P0CCE, plausibility problems P0CCD. A driver typically gets a flap status that never changes or a message that the flap is open.
The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.
Symptoms
- Flap status stuck or shown as open
- Warning lamp after two trips (GM Volt)
Common causes
- High Sensor signal wire shorted to a 12 V feed
- Medium Interrupted sensor ground or open sensor
- Medium Unplugged or damaged sensor connector
