P0937: Hydraulic Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit
Standardized SAE J2012 code · P09xx — Transmission
What does P0937 mean?
General electrical fault in the circuit of the temperature sensor for the hydraulic fluid of an automated gearbox, without a clear low or high pattern. No manufacturer documents this exact code publicly. Ferrari shows where such a sensor sits: its DCT carries a radiator outlet and gearbox inlet oil temperature sensor reported under P0938 to P0940 in the NCR gearbox ECU. The control needs this value to correct pressure and clutch fill for viscosity. CARB requires circuit checks on transmission sensors. P0938 is the plausibility fault, P0939 and P0940 low and high, P0941 intermittent; P0711 to P0713 cover the main transmission fluid temperature sensor. Shift quality may suffer and a warning appears.
The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.
Symptoms
- Gearbox warning light on
- Rougher shifts or clutch engagement, especially when cold
Common causes
- High Connector at the temperature sensor loose, corroded or oil-soaked
- Medium Damaged sensor wiring near the gearbox or cooler lines
- Medium Temperature sensor failed
Likelihood is a general estimate across vehicles; your make and model may differ.
