P0932: Hydraulic Pressure Sensor Circuit

Standardized SAE J2012 code · P09xx — Transmission

What does P0932 mean?

General electrical fault in the circuit of the sensor that reports hydraulic pressure in the gearbox, usually line pressure in an automatic or system pressure in an automated manual or dual-clutch unit. The module sees a signal it cannot use at all, without a clear low or high pattern. Chrysler names it Line Pressure Sensor Circuit Fault; an ALLDATA case on a 2003 Grand Cherokee 4.7 automatic shows it together with P0935, caused by an open line pressure solenoid in the solenoid pack. CARB requires circuit checks on such transmission inputs. P0934 and P0935 are the low and high faults, P0933 the plausibility fault, P0936 the intermittent one. Expect harsh shifts, often with line pressure forced to maximum.

The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.

Symptoms

  • Warning light or transmission warning on
  • Harsh engagements and firm shifts from maximum line pressure
  • Possible limp mode with limited gears

Common causes

  • High Fault in the solenoid pack or valve body module that carries the pressure sensor (open solenoid, internal lead frame)
  • Medium Poor crimp or solder joint at the sensor connector terminals
  • Medium 5 V reference or sensor ground interrupted
  • Low Transmission or powertrain control module fault

Likelihood is a general estimate across vehicles; your make and model may differ.
