P07FE: Stuck in Gear Not Specified
Standardized SAE J2012 code · P07xx — Transmission
What does P07FE mean?
P07FE is the catch-all of the 'Stuck in Gear' family: the transmission stays in a gear it was commanded to leave, but the module cannot or does not name the gear. The gear-specific codes are P072B–P073C for reverse and gears 1–7, P07D7 for 8th, P07F8 for 9th and P07FB for 10th. No manufacturer document available to us uses P07FE; the gear-specific codes are documented on dual-clutch gearboxes such as Ford's DPS6 and Maserati's MC20, whose actuators move shift drums or forks. Typical causes are a sticking shift actuator or valve, low or unstable system pressure, mechanical damage, or a faulty position or speed signal.
The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.
