P062E: Fuel Injector Driver Circuit Performance Bank 2

Standardized SAE J2012 code · P06xx — Computer and output circuits

What does P062E mean?

Direct-injection injectors (petrol and common-rail diesel) need a high boost voltage generated in the module to open fast; the module then holds them with pulsed battery voltage. P062E is the bank 2 counterpart of P062D for V engines with separate driver circuits per bank. The only user found is Ford's 2023 diesel (6.7 L Power Stroke V8): the driver chip's internal logic reports a loss of the high-voltage supply and the code sets within 0.5 s; group supply faults of the injectors are P2150/P2151 and P2153/P2154. GM monitors the same boost voltage only under P062D. The injectors of bank 2 then open incorrectly – misfires on one side of the engine, rough idle, loss of power and possibly limp mode. Check wiring and connectors under the bank 2 valve cover and each injector for shorts before suspecting the engine module.

The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.

Symptoms

  • Check engine light on
  • Misfires on one side of the engine
  • Loss of power or limp mode
  • Rough idle, starting problems

Common causes

  • High Short in an injector wire or injector of bank 2
  • Medium Engine module or driver chip faulty internally
  • Medium Connector or harness under the bank 2 valve cover
  • Low Undervoltage or poor ground

Likelihood is a general estimate across vehicles; your make and model may differ.
