C0595: Brake Booster Internal Power Driver Range/Performance

Standardized SAE J2012 code · C05xx codes

Safety-critical system. Faults in airbags, brakes, steering or high-voltage components can put people at risk. Follow the manufacturer's service information and safety procedures, or have the vehicle checked by a qualified workshop.

What does C0595 mean?

Internal power driver in brake booster controller does not respond as expected. The internal power driver is the output stage in the booster module that switches current to the electric motor; when it does not respond as expected the module cannot control the motor reliably and limits or stops assist. If power assist is lost, the brakes still work through the master cylinder, but a much higher pedal force is needed.

The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.

Symptoms

  • Brake system warning lamp or message
  • Possible reduced brake assist
  • Firmer brake pedal, longer pedal travel or higher pedal force
  • Driver-assistance functions such as automatic emergency braking or adaptive cruise control may be disabled

Common causes

  • High Power driver internal fault
  • Medium Shorted motor winding or phase wiring overloading the driver
  • Low Low or unstable supply voltage to the booster module
