C0568: Brake Booster Solenoid Circuit High

Standardized SAE J2012 code · C05xx codes

Safety-critical system. Faults in airbags, brakes, steering or high-voltage components can put people at risk. Follow the manufacturer's service information and safety procedures, or have the vehicle checked by a qualified workshop.

What does C0568 mean?

Brake booster solenoid control voltage above expected range. The booster solenoid is an electrically operated valve on the brake booster that lets the control module build up or increase assist without driver input, for example for emergency brake assist or automatic braking. If power assist is lost, the brakes still work through the master cylinder, but a much higher pedal force is needed.

The code tells you which monitor failed, not which part is broken. Test before replacing parts.

Symptoms

  • Brake system warning lamp or message
  • Possible reduced brake assist
  • Firmer brake pedal, longer pedal travel or higher pedal force
  • Driver-assistance functions such as automatic emergency braking or adaptive cruise control may be disabled

Common causes

  • High Wiring shorted to battery
  • Low Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
  • Low Supply wire pinched against B+ source
